OODA Loop for Traders: How to Think & Act Faster Under Pressure

🎯 “Clarity comes from cycling faster through confusion than the competition.”

In this week’s coaching video, I unpack how traders can use the OODA Loop — a decision-making framework I first learned in the RAF — to make clearer, faster, and more confident trading decisions.

The OODA Loop (Observe → Orient → Decide → Act) was originally developed for fighter pilots who had to make split-second calls under extreme pressure. In trading, it’s just as powerful. When you learn to tighten your own OODA Loop, you’ll respond faster to change, manage uncertainty better, and cut through the noise that paralyses most traders.

If you’d like to take this further, I’ve put together a free OODA Loop Follow-Up Worksheet to help you review and refine each stage of your own loop.

Use it weekly to reflect on:

✅ What you’re really observing (and what you’re missing)

✅ How you’re orienting your view to changing markets

✅ How clear and timely your decisions are

✅ Whether your actions match your plan and conviction
